Listeria-/Salmonella resultat på mindre end 90 min

When FoodTech opens the doors, we will present a rapid method to detect bacteria, such as Listeria species, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella species or E coli species in less than 90 minutes, and with no risk of spreading bacteria, because the process starts with heating the sample to 95°c so bacteria are killed and the detecting is on the genetic materials.

The LoopiX device contains:
• A heating unit to complete the thermal lysis stage as well as supplying the correct temperature for the LAMP-PCR
process.
• A cooling fan to return the sample quickly and efficiently to room-temperature.
• A miniature spectrophotometer to read the light signal which indicates a positive detection of the target
microorganism.
The process is straight-forward.
1. First the sample is heated in a lysis buffer to 95º Celsius to destroy and break-open all cells releasing the genetic
material.
2. This sample is then purified either manually or using the Purifix8 unit to provide an eluted sample that contains RNA
which can be analysed.
3. The RNA present is then exposed to a primer sequence specific for the microorganism of concern and the enzyme RNA
Polymerase. The device raise the temperature to 63 º Celsius and if the target sequence is present, then replication of
the that sequence takes place resulting in multiple copies of the genetic material within the sample.
4. Once the required time has elapsed, the sample is cooled and if the target sequence was present then the fluorescence
marker that was combined into the primer sequence will glow at 540 nm. This glow will be read by the on-board
spectrophotometer and interpreted as a positive detection (red light). If the target sequence was not present then the
fluorescence does not occur and hence a not detected result (green light.

Purifix

An automated purification device to be used alongside the LoopiX rapid
pathogen screening equipment.
• Enhanced reproducibility and ease of use.
• When processing a swab for analysis in the LoopiX rapid pathogen
screening system the current manual method using PFS+ requires operator time.
• If undertaking multiple purifications this step can consume a significant amount of time extending the swab – result
timescale.
• Purifix8 allows for the simultaneous purification of between 1 – 8 samples simultaneously saving both time and operator
actions.
• Reproducibility of results and the Relative Limit Of Detection (RLOD) is enhanced through optimisation of the purification
process.
• Recommended uses: -
• During investigations, the processing of multiple swabs for analysis can take a significant amount of time.
Purifix8 reduces that purification time to under 15 minutes for up to 8 samples simultaneously.
• Reduces operator input and time when undertaking rapid pathogen screening.
• Routine analysis of multiple samples is enhanced giving less user error and enhanced RLOD.
